Animal SOS
Many of the world’s animal species are barely making it in their
wild habitats these days, including two of our most popular bears:
giant pandas and polar bears.
Giant pandas are facing forest and
bamboo patch destruction and global warming is melting the arctic ice
floes that polar bears depend on for survival. If you feel stuck in the
hibernation mode and don’t know what to do about it, here’s an easy way
you can help protect these beloved bruins.
You can create your own Animal SOS page on the San Diego Zoo’s Web
site to let family and friends know how concerned you are about bears
AND to raise money that will help the Zoo protect and save them!
Instead of receiving gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, or other
special occasions, you can collect donations for giant panda or polar
bear conservation. Or, perhaps your fundraising efforts will be in
honor of a special person in your life.
